I take this fght against Rogers very seriously and don't think lightly of him at all, or that the result of the fight can be easily predicted. This is a strong fighter, who has already proved with 10 finished fights, that he is one of the best heavyweights at present. Rogers has a few serious wild cards - speed, strength and he hits hard; so I will need to work pretty hard, not to let the American use them. And of course, when I step into the cage, I will not think solely about how hard he can punch with his hands. I'm sure that Rogers will try to suprise me with something. I have to be ready for everything.
I'd also like to point out the character of this fighter. In a short time, Brett has risen from the very lows to become an elite heavyweight. Each of his fights is a step forward. And he deserves respect in that regard.
And one more thing about weak/strong opponents. I never fought against weak opponents, and don't think I ever will, because in Mixed Martial Arts there is no such thing, if we talk about the highest level, of course. Because of the fact that MMA uses techniques from tens of different fighting styles, there are many small nuances. Each fighter has his individual style, and his strengths, and each of those can become the deciding factor in a bout. You cannot forget about anything, you cannot get distracted even for a second, you cannot relax and become predictable if everything is going your way, and you cannot think that your opponent is predictable and believe that you know his every move that he's about to throw at you, even if he looks simple and constantly repeats himself.
That's where the beauty lies in mixed martial arts, and that's why it's an incredibly difficult type of sport, for anyone who has decided to dedicate themselves to it.
